SINGAPORE—Malacañang on Friday said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. remains unfazed by declining public satisfaction ratings after his net satisfaction rating fell further into negative territory in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

The survey, released Thursday, found that 35% of Filipinos were satisfied with Marcos’ performance, while 46% were dissatisfied and 20% were undecided. This translated to a net satisfaction rating of -11, down four points from -7 in June.

Palace press officer and Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said the survey results would not affect Marcos’ work, while questioning the timing of the latest poll’s release.

“Kahit kailan, kahit ano pang survey firm, tumaas, bumaba, hindi naaapektuhan ang Pangulo, tuloy-tuloy ang pagtatrabaho. Hindi nagbabakasyon, nagtatrabaho,” Castro said at a press conference on Friday.

She also suggested that the survey’s release was timely given the issues facing Vice President Sara Duterte, Marcos’ political rival and potential presidential contender.

“So, very timely lang kasi ang paglabas nito dahil maraming issue na kinasasangkutan ngayon ang Bise Presidente. So, again, ang numero ng survey firms hindi po iyan makakaapekto sa pagtatrabaho ng Pangulo,” Castro said.

The SWS findings came as Duterte faced bribery and corruption allegations raised during her impeachment trial.

In a separate survey by Momentum Research, Marcos also recorded a negative net approval rating of -18.9 percentage points, with 38.5% of Filipino adults approving of his performance and 57.4% disapproving.

Duterte, meanwhile, posted a net approval rating of +29.5 percentage points, with 61.3% approving of her performance and 31.8% disapproving.
