PhilHealth rolls out YAKAP health program in Zambales

PhilHealth launched the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) in this province at the Botolan Peoples Plaza in the town of Botolan, Zambales on 27 November.

Around 500 beneficiaries from the various towns of the province attended the launching of the said program by the PhilHealth and Department of Health (DOH).

Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane Jr. led the launching for the program that provides affordable and accessible health services to the people of Zambales. YAKAP Program aims to deliver immediate assistance and support to the Zambaleños.

Ebdane said that these include free checkup, free laboratory services, and free medicine to the 35 Accredited YAKAP Clinics in the whole province of Zambales.

DOH and PhilHealth officials such as Development Management Officer V Jocelyn R. Pascua, PRO III-A Jennifer L. Gamboa, Acting Branch Manager Dra. Rowena S. Zabat-San Mateo, YAKAP Orientation Point Person Korrine C. Buquiron, Social Insurance Officer I Jayson S. Santos, and Chief of Hospital II-PRRMH Dra. Eileen Rose Garrido were present during the event.

The Provincial Government is urging the residents of Zambales to register and become a member to receive the services provided under the PhilHealth YAKAP.

Governor Ebdane said that the Provincial Government is thankful for the continued services, support and care provided by DOH and PhilHealth to the people of Zambales. He also thanked the Provincial Health Office, Municipal Health Clinics, Accredited YAKAP Clinics and primary hospitals here.

The PhilHealth YAKAP is an enhanced primary care benefit package for all Filipinos. It covers free consultations, laboratory tests, cancer screenings, and essential medicines to promote prevention and early detection of diseases.

The YAKAP program aims to reduce out-of-pocket costs and provide peace of mind by offering several health services.
