Religious group Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) announced that it will hold a three-day rally from 16 to 18 November at Rizal Park to call for transparency and accountability in government.
Another group, the United People’s Initiative (UPI)—fronted by retired military officers—is also expected to stage its own rally with the same purpose: demanding accountability, honesty, and justice.
UPI’s assembly will be held at the EDSA Shrine and the People Power Monument in Quezon City, but the group clarified that it will unite with INC at Rizal Park.
Police anticipate lightning protests in areas such as Mendiola Peace Arc, the U.S. Embassy, Ayala Bridge, and Recto Avenue—similar to the 21 September demonstrations.
This is not the first time the religious sect has mounted a protest tied to government issues. In January 2025, INC launched the “National Rally for Peace,” calling for answers regarding the rift between President Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte. The event drew 1.8 million attendees across nearly 12 locations nationwide.
Learners in Manila, both public and private, will shift to Alternative Delivery Mode on 17 to 18 November after the local government announced the suspension of face-to-face classes.
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced that more than 16,000 police officers will be deployed for the rallies.
A total of 8,541 officers will serve in Metro Manila, while 8,000 will be positioned across Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (CALABARZON), and Central Luzon.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) expects around 300,000 INC members to attend.
