A Cameroonian passenger under immigration custody turned violent, injuring some security guards of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1, the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP) said.
Airport police on Sunday identified the foreigner as 18-year-old Floriant Ndzeng Atangana.
Atangana reportedly struck airline security personnel using a plastic chair and a belt after being instructed to stay in the transit lounge while shouting profane words.
PNP-AVSEGROUP said the matter was brought “under control without further incident.” Authorities are now coordinating with the Bureau of Immigration on possible charges.
