Businessman, content creator, and renowned “queen maker” Wilbert Tolentino has embarked on a new and meaningful venture — the acquisition of Nazareth Institute of Alfonso, Inc., a long-standing educational institution in Alfonso, Cavite. Known for his entrepreneurial drive and social advocacy, Wilbert’s latest milestone reinforces his lifelong belief that education is the foundation of nation-building.

“Education is the most powerful foundation for transforming communities and building a better future,” he shared. “Nazareth Institute is not just an institution — it’s a legacy of learning that has shaped lives for two decades. By acquiring it, I see an opportunity to protect that legacy while elevating it for the modern world.”

As the school’s new director, Wilbert envisions Nazareth Institute of Alfonso as a modern, inclusive, and globally competitive academic hub — one that empowers rural youth with access to the same quality education as those in major cities or abroad. “My vision is to modernize the curriculum, integrate technology-driven programs, and upgrade our facilities,” he said. “This isn’t just a business move — it’s a mission of service, empowerment, and nation-building.”

Among his core development goals is the modernization of the school’s curriculum. Wilbert aims to introduce enhanced STEM, Business, and Tech-Voc tracks aligned with TESDA and international standards, integrating digital literacy, robotics, and entrepreneurship to prepare students for the evolving global economy. At the same time, the school will continue to strengthen values formation and character-building, nurturing well-rounded individuals who lead with integrity and compassion.

He also plans to convert classrooms into smart, technology-equipped learning spaces, build new science, innovation, and computer laboratories, and improve sports, arts, and performance facilities, including the construction of a new covered court for students and community events.

Ensuring accessibility remains at the heart of Wilbert’s vision. His approach includes launching scholarship and financial assistance programs for deserving students to ensure that no learner is left behind due to financial constraints. The school will also partner with government agencies and private organizations to fund grants, donations, and development initiatives aimed at supporting both academic and extracurricular growth.

In a personal revelation, Wilbert shared that he once studied at the University of Santo Tomas and Centro Escolar University but had to pause his college education due to early employment. “I decided to continue my degree in Business Management, but I was advised to complete my K-12 courses first. I want to set an example that learning has no age limit — it’s about timing, passion, and purpose,” he said.

The school’s new Board of Trustees includes Wilbert Tolentino as School Director, Ryan Soto as Chairperson, and Rico Almonicar as Vice Chairperson. As director, Wilbert brings his vast experience as a Rotarian, Paul Harris Fellow, Arch Klump Society member, entrepreneur, content creator, talent manager, and public servant.

He emphasized that student welfare and safety will always remain a top priority. “Students showing symptoms such as fever, cough, or sore throat should stay home and rest,” he noted. “We’ll implement strict health protocols, regular disinfection, and coordinate with local health offices for medical guidance. Hygiene education and proper nutrition will also be part of our wellness program.”

On the subject of student activism, Wilbert believes in fostering critical thinking and civic awareness while ensuring responsible participation. “Today’s youth are aware and engaged. Their participation in rallies reflects civic awareness, but schools must teach responsible and informed expression. I respect their right to speak up, but their safety and academic focus should come first,” he said.
