In the wake of the powerful 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Cebu, the National Housing Authority (NHA) has extended much-needed help to affected residents of San Remigio, distributing P12.37 million in cash aid under its Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP).
A total of 1,085 families received assistance — 76 families whose homes were totally damaged received P30,000 each, while 1,009 families whose homes were partially damaged received P10,000 each.
Leading the distribution were NHA assistant general manager Alvin Feliciano and Region 7 Manager Engr. Hermes Jude Juntilo, under the direction of general manager Joeben Tai.
“Kalakip ng tulong na ito ang pag-asa na maibsan ang bigat ng inyong pinagdadaanan,” Feliciano said, echoing the directive of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and GM Tai to deliver timely aid to calamity-hit areas.
Housing is probably the biggest issue affecting people the world over.
