The Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Hospital in San Fernando is seeking partnerships with other government agencies to expand its services and enhance convenience for OFWs and their beneficiaries.

Dr. Goldwin Posadas, head of the OFW Hospital Ancillary Services, said in a statement that the hospital is in talks with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

These potential collaborations could provide OFWs and their families access to additional assistance, including support for transportation and burial costs, Posadas said.

The OFW Hospital currently operates on a zero-balance billing policy, with funding sourced from PhilHealth and the Department of Health’s Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients (MAIFIP) program.

Several new developments are underway at the hospital which include the installation of a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine, in-house drug testing capabilities, and the introduction of advanced diagnostic procedures such as pulmonary function testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and treadmill stress tests.

Currently a Level 1 health facility, the OFW Hospital submitted an application for Level 2 licensing on 4 July.
