CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Authorities seized over P5.78 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested an alleged drug dealer during a raid in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental on Friday.
The joint operation by the Northern Mindanao Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and Tagoloan police targeted a house in Zone 4, Barangay Sta. Cruz, following a week-long surveillance operation.
The suspect, identified as Joan, 55, was tagged as a key drug distributor in Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro (CdO). Police said sachets and containers of shabu, already packed for distribution, were found scattered throughout the house.
The search, which began at 6 a.m., lasted until noon. Joan’s husband, reportedly in charge of distribution, remains at large.
Meanwhile, another anti-drug operation took place in Zone 6, Cilrai, Macabalan, CdO, where PDEA agents and local police busted a suspected drug den after a successful buy-bust.
Three individuals were arrested, including the alleged den maintainer alias Madam/Wings, 33; employee alias Melbert, 26; and visitor alias John, 21. About 8 grams of suspected shabu were confiscated.
All suspects will face charges under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
