This July 30, GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs invite moviegoers to confront their deepest fears as they unveil P77, a mind-bending psychological horror film that promises to grip audiences from start to finish. Directed by rising horror auteur Derick Cabrido (Mallari), P77 explores the fragile boundary between reality and illusion—and the terrifying consequences of crossing it.
A NEW NIGHTMARE BEGINS
At the center of the story is Luna, played by Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza in her first leading role in a horror film. Luna returns home from her job on a cruise ship to care for her ailing younger brother (played by award-winning child actor Euwenn Mikaell, Firefly). But things begin to spiral when their mother (veteran actress Rosanna Roces) mysteriously disappears—and her brother’s condition worsens.
With no place left to go, the siblings secretly take refuge in Penthouse 77, an abandoned unit with a haunting past. But what they believed would be a sanctuary quickly becomes a psychological prison—where trauma, secrets, and supernatural forces collide.
BEYOND SCARES: A FILM WITH DEPTH
P77 is more than just a horror film. It thoughtfully examines Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) through the lens of its characters’ emotional struggles, family dynamics, and inner demons.
“Our story is deeply rooted in family,” Barbie shared. “Yes, it’s a horror film with jump scares, but at its core, it’s a story about pain, healing, and understanding mental health—especially PTSD. It’s a conversation that needs to happen.”
Written by Enrico Santos (an award-winning screenwriter known for gripping narratives), and based on a story by Greenbones creators Anj Atienza and Kristian Julao, P77 combines raw emotional drama with spine-chilling suspense.
AN ENSEMBLE OF VETERANS AND BREAKOUT STARS
Joining Barbie and Euwenn in the cast are screen legends Jackielou Blanco, Carlos Siguion-Reyna, Gina Pareño, and Rosanna Roces, alongside rising stars Chrome Cosio and JC Alcantara. Together, they bring depth and gravitas to a story that demands both emotional intensity and psychological nuance.
GMA PICTURES CONTINUES ITS HORROR LEGACY
P77 follows in the footsteps of GMA Pictures’ acclaimed horror hits such as The Road, Ouija, Basement, and Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles. With P77, the studio aims to raise the bar even higher by offering a horror experience that’s not only terrifying but also socially relevant.
Produced by the same creative minds behind Firefly, Greenbones, and Mallari, P77is poised to be another standout entry in Filipino horror cinema.
IN CINEMAS JULY 30
Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, P77 hits cinemas nationwide starting July 30, 2025.
So—are you ready to open the door to Penthouse 77?
