Toyota Motor Philippines’ premier racing series, the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup, roars back to Clark International Speedway on 9 August for its third and final race weekend of the year, promising adrenaline-fueled action and a full slate of motorsport entertainment.

The event, free and open to the public, will be livestreamed via TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippines’ Facebook page and YouTube channel starting at 8:30 a.m.

Topping the leaderboard in the Super Sporting Class is Russel Cabrera of TOYOTA Team Cebu – Standard Insurance, with Alain Gabriel Alzona of TOYOTA General Santos – Smart Communications Racing and Michael Bryan Co of R Garage / TOYOTA Dagupan Group in close pursuit.

In the Sporting Class, Jesse Garcia of Obengers Racing – TOYOTA Balintawak leads the pack, while the Novice Class is currently dominated by Luis Moreno of TOYOTA Gazoo Racing Philippines, trailed by Pablo Salapantan and TMP President Masando Hashimoto.

Sprint, endurance, and debut races

Race Weekend 3 will feature two high-octane Sprint Races and the highly anticipated return of the 1.5-hour Endurance Race, designed to test the limits of both car and driver.

Making its track debut is the Tamaraw Sprint Race Exhibition, showcasing a one-make-race version of the Tamaraw vehicle. Behind the wheel are former Vios Cup champions including Allan Uy, Daniel Miranda, Estefano Rivera, and John Dizon, along with ex-test driver Tyson Sy.

Fans can also witness the Next-Generation Tamaraw in a Drag Race Exhibition, putting its speed and capabilities on full display.

Other race events include the Club Race for GR Yaris, GR Supra, and GR 86 owners, and a Drifting Exhibition guaranteed to entertain motorsport fans.

Off-track fun

The excitement continues off-track with sponsor booths, prizes, games, and sim racing rigs open to the public. Attendees can also join qualifiers for the upcoming TGR eSports GT Championship 2025, enjoy car displays of GR/GR-S lineups, and purchase official GR merchandise.

Capping off the day is a live performance by local pop-rock band Over October, followed by the awarding ceremony to celebrate the season’s top racers.

“It’s the final race weekend of the year, so we want to end on a high,” said TMP Assistant Vice President for Marketing Services Andy Ty. “We invite everyone who got a taste of the thrill during Race Weekend 2 to join us for Race Weekend 3, where we’ve packed even more exciting activities.”

The TGR Philippine Cup is sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and backed by major sponsors including Petron, GT Radial, Seiko, and Toyota Financial Services.
