Vice Ganda, in a heartfelt social media post, reminded everyone of the beauty in slowing down and choosing joy—in the most unexpected of ways.
On a rainy morning that would have otherwise meant another packed day of showbiz commitments, the “Unkabogable Star” took a detour. Instead of heading straight to work, Vice drove to one very special destination: her mother’s home.
“Gumising ng maaga para magtrabaho. Malakas ang ulan. Naisip ko ’yung mga araw na naglalaro ako sa ulan,” Vice began in her post. “Ang saya nung mga araw na ’yon.”
The memory of childhood innocence and carefree moments under the rain tugged at her heart. In a split-second decision, Vice chose presence over productivity. “Bumangon ako. Pero ‘di ako dumiretso sa trabaho. Pumunta ko sa bahay ng Nanay ko at inaya ko siyang maligo sa ulan.”
What followed was not a grand gesture or extravagant experience—but something far more meaningful. A simple, joy-filled moment between a child and a mother, both surrendering to the downpour and to each other’s company.
“Napakasaya. Di matatawaran,” Vice reflected. “Sa oras na ’to, gusto ko lang makasama ang Nanay ko at bumalik sa pagkabata. Ang sarap.”
The post ended with a poignant realization: time is fleeting, the rain may not come again tomorrow, and the chance to play in it with a loved one might not return. “Bukas may trabaho pa ko. Pero di ko alam kung bukas uulan pa. Di din ako sigurado kung makakapaglaro pa ko sa ulan kasama ang Nanay ko. Kaya ngayon na. Ngayon na. #EtoAngTotoongPriceless”
Vice’s post, beyond its poetic simplicity, resonated deeply with fans—reminding everyone that some of the most precious moments in life aren’t scheduled, scripted, or luxurious. They are spontaneous, rooted in love, and made even more unforgettable by the people we share them with.
Indeed, in the middle of a downpour, Vice Ganda found sunshine—through memory, through motherhood, and through a simple walk back to childhood.
