CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Two delivery service companies are in talks with Kapampangan parol makers to ensure their products are sent safely and securely.

According to the city government, Federal Express and 2GO are discussing shipping services through the “Pasko Express Padala Program” with Fernandino lantern makers at the Heroes Hall here on 18 July.

The talks regarding the shipping of traditional Kapampangan parols are ahead of “Ber” months to avoid the peak season modifications of delivery services.

The activity, made through their partnership with the City Tourism and Investment Promotions Office (CTIPO) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), catered to a number of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in San Fernando, including local lantern makers and sellers of holiday products such as food, crafts and home décor.

Speakers from organizing companies gave the attendees various logistics and shipping options, such as how to reach more regions in the Philippines and the world, useful marketing tools, and other business advice, particularly for those who intend to expand nationally and internationally.

Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag stated in her virtual message that Fernandino MSMEs now have more and better options when exporting their products and that their coaching would undoubtedly be successful because of these companies’ established reputation in the logistics industry.

Among the speakers from the government sector were DTI Pampanga Director Elenita Ordonio and CTIP Officer Ching Pangilinan, along with key officers from 2GO and FedEx, including retail officers Ivan Paul Briones, Blessie Cruz, Ingrid Salud and Loriedane Gamayo.
