The government has ordered to speed up the distribution of all pending motorcycle plates to clear the 11-year backlog.

At a media briefing on Tuesday, Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said the 5.4 million motorcycle plates have been produced and are now being delivered to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) district offices nationwide.

“Finally and after 11 years, we were able to wipe out our motorcycle plates backlogs. This year, we have now produced 5.4 million MC plates, which effectively eliminates the backlog,” Dizon said during a media briefing on Tuesday.

“We produced the plates. Right now, those plates are being distributed to LTO district offices,” he added.

To assist motorists, the LTO has launched ltotracker.com, allowing users to check if their plates are available for pickup or delivery. The tracking service is also accessible via the eGovPH app.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier directed the Department of Transportation and the LTO to fast-track the production and distribution of motorcycle plates, which had been delayed since 2014.
