The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) climbed 52.78 points or 0.82 percent to 6,512.66 at midday on 14 July.
International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICT) led the most active list with a trading value of over P629 million. ICT gained 12.60 points to trade at P452.60, marking a 2.86 percent increase. Universal Robina Corporation (URC) followed with a 2.11 percent gain to P99.05.
However, DigiPlus Interactive Corp. (PLUS) remained under selling pressure, dropping 7.41 percent to P35.00, despite being the second most actively traded stock with P331 million in value.
On the advances board, Island Information & Technology, Inc. (IS) surged 15.94 percent, while Lepanto Consolidated Mining Company “A” (LC) and A Brown Company, Inc. (BRN) gained 14.29 percent and 11.48 percent, respectively.
Prime Media Holdings, Inc. (PRIM) led the decliners with an 18.29 percent slump, followed by Berjaya Philippines, Inc. (BCOR), which dropped 16.23 percent, and Top Line Business Development Corp. (TOP), which fell 13.48 percent.
The foreign exchange rate stood steady at 56.4 pesos to the US dollar as of 1:21 PM.
