Laur, Nueva Ecija — A barangay captain was gunned down by unidentified assailants riding in tandem on a motorcycle in Barangay San Isidro on Sunday night, 13 July.

Authorities said the village chief was shot multiple times by the suspects, who immediately fled the scene after the attack. Emergency responders rushed to the area, but the victim was declared dead on the spot.

Police have yet to identify the suspects and determine the motive behind the killing.
