Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has named Park Weongi, former CEO of NAVER Cloud, as its newest board member as the company accelerates its transformation from a fiber broadband provider to a full-scale digital infrastructure and technology services firm.
Park, a South Korean technology leader with over three decades of experience in cloud computing and telecom, was elected to the Board of Directors during a meeting on July 8. His appointment fills the unexpired term of Atty. Francis Ed. Lim, who recently assumed the chairmanship of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
At NAVER Cloud, Park oversaw the company's expansion from 22 to over 200 service offerings, spanning IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms. He also implemented a sustainable data center strategy that earned a Platinum LEED certification. Most recently, he served as CEO of NAVER Cloud APAC from 2023 to 2025, where he led the firm's entry into 10 markets and forged strategic partnerships across Southeast Asia.
Converge co-founder and CEO Dennis Anthony Uy said Park’s inclusion in the board supports the company’s broader push beyond broadband.
“At this critical stage of our evolution into a technology company, we are building a leadership team that matches the scale and complexity of our ambitions,” Uy said. “Mr. Park’s track record in leading large-scale digital transformations and building future-ready infrastructure aligns perfectly with our vision to elevate the Philippines’ digital economy. His presence on our Board is not only strategic — it’s transformational.”
Park will join the Board’s Risk Oversight and Remuneration Committees.
Uy said Converge’s pivot toward becoming a "techco" includes investment in digital platforms, AI-enabled services, data centers, and enterprise cloud solutions.
“Converge is no longer just a connectivity company. We're building the digital backbone of the future — and we need board-level guidance from leaders who’ve already built those foundations at a global scale,” he said.
Park also currently serves as executive advisor to NAVER Cloud. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Yonsei University in South Korea.
Also during the July 8 meeting, the Converge Board appointed Arlene San Juan as company treasurer, replacing Christine R. Blabagno, who was concurrently named Chief Risk Officer while retaining her role as deputy chief finance officer.
