BALANGA CITY, Bataan — The provincial government has issued an ordinance excusing Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials from attending school.
According to Governor Joet Garcia, Provincial Ordinance No. 2, Series of 2025 or the SK Excused Absence Ordinance of Bataan will take effect this starting school year. He added that the ordinance was authored and pushed by board member Jomar Gaza, and was passed by the Provincial Board led by Vice Governor Cris Garcia.
The ordinance orders public and private schools in the province to acknowledge as “excused absence” the non-attendance of SK officials from classes, with the condition of submitting a Certificate of Attendance as proof of their participation in an official business.
He added that such official businesses include community programs, youth projects, trainings, and other government activities during the SK officials’ “leave of absence.”
In the ordinance, SK officials who filed their excused absence during important activities in the school such as tests, presentations and passing of projects to be responsible in finishing and submitting their work.
