The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) joined the first Inter-Agency Coordinating Conference on Friday to finalize security and safety preparations for President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr.’s State of the Nation Address (SoNA) 2025.

QCPD acting director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio said the meeting focused on a comprehensive threat assessment, deployment strategies and traffic management plans to ensure a safe, orderly and peaceful event.

In his welcome remarks, Silvio praised the efficiency and professionalism of the participating government agencies.

“In the face of anticipated protests, gatherings, and other activities related to SoNA 2025, our role in ensuring peace and order remains crucial,” Silvio said. “We are not against the right to express, rather we are ensuring it can be exercised in a safe, orderly, and law-abiding manner.”

The meeting was presided over by Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin, Metro Manila Regional Director. Attendees included other district directors of the National Capital Region Police Office and their regional staff, chiefs of Regional Support Units, and representatives from various agencies.

Among them were the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms, Presidential Security Group, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, Special Action Force, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Department of Public Order and Safety, Traffic and Transportation Management Department, Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency-NCR and Joint Task Force-NCR.

Other participants from Regional Headquarters and Regional Support Units joined the conference via Zoom.
