To provide better services to the people of Orion, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a new multipurpose facility that will serve as the Municipal Hall.

According to DPWH Bataan 2nd OIC-District Engineer Roland Rainier Victorino, the newly built 1,479.02-square-meter facility was officially turned over during an inauguration ceremony held in Barangay San Vicente.

Victorino said the P57.17-million project, funded under the 2023 and 2024 national budgets and completed in two phases, replaces the old building to provide a more modern and efficient space for public service delivery.

“The first phase covered the construction of the three-storey structure with a roof deck, which began in June 2023, using Grade 40 and 60 reinforcing steel for structural integrity, along with upgraded electrical and plumbing systems, a water pumping system, waterproofing, fire sprinklers, and glass and glazing to improve lighting, energy efficiency, and aesthetics,” he explained.

Victorino added that Phase II, which began in June 2024, focused on building the Mayor’s Office, staff office, and conference room, with features including structural steel support for an elevator, built-in storage units, and updated electrical and plumbing systems with improved water supply.

“Apart from enhancing functionality and institutional use, the Municipal Hall will modernize the work environment, improve safety and compliance, and strengthen public image and trust,” he emphasized.

The turnover ceremony was attended by local officials from Bataan, who expressed support for the improved infrastructure, which is expected to enhance administrative operations and foster stronger community engagement.
