CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Motorists are questioning the safety of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) after a rock was thrown that injured a driver traversing the expressway.
According to mediaman Mark Sison, the driver is a family friend driving his vehicle along NLEx northbound before the San Fernando Exit around 4:30 p.m. on 20 June.
He added that the stone shattered the vehicle’s windshield, injuring the driver’s hand.
“If the rock had hit the driver’s head, or caused the vehicle to swerve, it could have led to a fatal accident involving multiple vehicles,” he said.
The renowned Kapampangan media personality said that it wasn’t just reckless, but a criminal act.
Sison called on NLEx Corporation and law enforcement to take immediate and lasting action to prevent similar incidents.
He added that the call for stricter safety measures comes as road safety advocates urge vigilance and accountability in high-traffic expressways.
“Every motorist deserves to feel safe on our highways. One life lost is one too many,” Sison added.
He is urging witnesses who saw the incident or have dashcam footage to report to local authorities or NLEx immediately.
