Authorities arrested two suspects involved in a robbery incident in Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal, around midnight on Friday.

The victim, identified only as alias Net, 23, a resident of the area, was reportedly waiting for a jeepney along E. Rodriguez Street when the incident happened.

According to the police investigation, the suspects approached the victim on board a motorcycle and suddenly snatched the victim’s mobile phone.

The victim immediately shouted for help, catching the attention of two members of the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station’s Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit who happened to be patrolling the area. The officers quickly responded and gave chase.

One of the suspects, identified as alias Elhy, 24, was caught on the spot, and the stolen mobile phone was recovered from him. However, his companion, alias Just, 19, managed to escape on the motorcycle.

Determined to catch the second suspect, police launched a follow-up operation, which led them to Barangay San Isidro. There, they successfully arrested the second suspect and recovered the motorcycle used during the robbery.

Both suspects are now in the custody of the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station and will be facing appropriate charges.

Police commended the quick response of their patrol unit and reminded the public to remain vigilant, especially in isolated or poorly lit areas.
