Almost P1 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated during a buy-bust operation in Rodriguez, Rizal on Wednesday night, authorities reported.
The operation, conducted by the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station's drug enforcement team around 8:40 PM in Barangay San Isidro, resulted in the arrest of two suspects identified only as alias “Otto,” 35, a high-value target, and alias “Totoy,” 33, classified as a street-level individual. Both are residents of the same barangay.
Seized during the sting operation were eight heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 142 grams, with a standard drug price of P965,600. Also recovered were P1,000 in marked buy-bust money, a digital weighing scale, a sling bag, a .22 caliber pistol with four bullets from alias Otto, and other drug paraphernalia.
The suspects are now detained at the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station's custodial facility. They are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
