The entire leadership of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has stepped down to support President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call for a government shake-up.
Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco confirmed on Friday that he and the full board of directors submitted their courtesy resignations last week, even before Malacañang issued a formal directive for all government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) to do the same.
“We serve at the pleasure of the President,” Mr. Tengco said. “And we will accept whatever the Chief Executive’s decision will be.”
Joining Tengco in tendering their resignations are PAGCOR President and Chief Operating Officer Wilma Eisma and Directors Jose Maria Ortega, Francis Democrito Concordia, and Gilbert Cesar Remulla.
Their move follows President Marcos’ order to recalibrate leadership across the bureaucracy, as part of a broader effort to realign priorities and enhance government efficiency.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin earlier confirmed that the courtesy resignations were being evaluated as part of the administration’s ongoing recalibration of key government posts.
