The daughter of a man kidnapped by unidentified armed men who claimed to be law enforcers is pleading for help and any information on her father’s whereabouts.
Nichole Cases Tatco said the armed men stormed their home in Tubao, La Union, around 9:30 p.m. on 18 May.
The men introduced themselves as operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and demanded to know where Orville Tatco was allegedly hiding illegal drugs.
Tatco, 48, reportedly told them there were no drugs in the house because he did not use any. The masked men then forced Orville and his younger son to the ground and began beating them, Nichole recounted. They then dragged Orville outside.
The suspects also stole cellphones and gadgets and pointed guns at the younger son, threatening to kill him if he shouted for help. Outside the house, the armed men hog-tied Orville on the ground.
Nichole’s cousin, a minor, witnessed the assault. One of the armed men allegedly pointed a gun at her, slapped her three times and stole her phone.
The family immediately contacted police, but as of this writing, there has been no information on Orville Tatco’s whereabouts.
Nichole is appealing to the public to report any information to authorities or directly to the family.
Tatco is a former employee of the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Commission on Human Rights. He was a supporter of the Solid North Partylist during the May 2025 National and Local Elections.
