Before he became one of today’s most recognizable faces in showbiz, David Licauco was once just another hopeful in a long line of dreamers outside the Pinoy Big Brother audition venues in 2015. Nearly a decade later, that full-circle moment came to life — only this time, he entered the iconic yellow house not as a contestant, but as a celebrity houseguest.

In a heartfelt social media post, the Maria Clara at Ibarra actor shared his gratitude for the brief but meaningful experience during the Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition, calling it “different from what I imagined — may magic talaga sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya (there really is magic inside the Big Brother House).”

Licauco, known for his calm and composed demeanor both on and off screen, admitted that his quiet presence inside the house was intentional. “I may have been quiet, but I learned a lot about myself,” he said, reflecting on the introspective nature of living in isolation with strangers under constant watch. “Truth is, no one really knows what it’s like inside unless you’ve lived it.”

More than just a novelty stint, Licauco’s short stay was a nod to his long-standing connection with the show — an almost destiny-fulfilled chapter. In a surprising revelation, he added,

“Fun fact: I was actually considered

to be a housemate earlier this year.”

While plans may not have fully materialized, his brief appearance still resonated with fans, housemates and himself alike.

He also took the time to thank those who supported him during his time in the house — even those who found his chill presence a little too low-key. “Sa mga naboringan sakin, sorry na po (To those who found me too boring, I am truly sorry)!” he joked.

And, of course, what’s PBB without the bond over food? David gave a light-hearted shout-out to some of his favorite culinary memories from the house: “Ate Klang’s ulam (viand), Ralph’s rice and Esnyr’s ice cream.”

With his signature humility and sincerity, David Licauco’s PBB story is a quiet reminder that every dream has its own timeline. From lining up in the audition queue to stepping inside as a guest watched by millions, it’s clear that for David, the journey is just as important as the destination.
