To mark their second year in the global car scene, Omoda & Jaecoo rolled out a fresh set of vehicles at the 2025 Shanghai International Auto Show, showcasing the Omoda C7 SHS, Omoda C5 SHS and Jaecoo J5 for the very first time.
Held in Wuhan, China, the theme “2 years 2gather: From Seed to Speed” summed up just how fast the brand has grown since its 2023 debut. In just 24 months, what started as a new name in motoring has now become a major player, expanding into dozens of countries with a strong lineup of both fuel-powered and new energy vehicles.
“From being the fastest-growing new player in Europe to achieving rapid global expansion, and from obtaining product ratings that adhere to “Global Standard, Global Quality” to mastering world-leading hybrid technology, Omoda & Jaecoo has evolved comprehensively “From Seed to Speed” since our global debut at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show. Our presence at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show marks a new and important milestone: Omoda & Jaecoo has thus officially entered a new era of accelerated advancement in the new energy sector,” Shawn Xu, Omoda & Jaecoo ceo, said.
That “next level” includes five new hybrid models to be released this year alone, all featuring their signature Super Hybrid System (SHS), a powertrain the brand claims is among the smoothest in the world.

The Omoda C7 SHS combines futuristic design with long-range hybrid performance.
At the center of their NEV (New Energy Vehicle) push are two models — the Omoda C7 SHS and the Omoda C5 SHS. Both are plug-in hybrids equipped with the same 201-horsepower motor and 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that powered the Jaecoo J7 SHS, which was first shown in the Philippines at this year’s Manila International Auto Show.
The Omoda C7 SHS, in particular, promises impressive range: up to 1,258 kilometers on hybrid mode and 90 kilometers on electric power alone. Fuel efficiency is also a highlight — just 5 liters per 100 kilometers.
These new models couldn’t come at a better time. Demand for EVs and hybrids is growing in the Philippines, with local sales expected to go up by 7 percent this year. Globally, Omoda & Jaecoo’s EV and hybrid sales (including the Omoda E5, Jaecoo EJ6 and J7 SHS) jumped 370 percent in just the first quarter of 2025. Once the new lineup officially launches, the brand expects these electrified models to make up half of its total sales.
Omoda & Jaecoo aren’t abandoning gasoline just yet. They’re also introducing the Jaecoo J5 — a compact SUV that’s all set to become their first fuel-powered model in the Philippine market.
