In true grassroots fashion, Kaunlad Pinoy (#133) took to the streets of Tagum on Friday, proving once again that the movement doesn’t just campaign from the sidelines, it walks right into the heart of the community.

Led by their ever-energetic first nominee Kuya Choi, the day kicked off with a lively motorcade through the city. But it didn’t end there. What followed was an on-foot campaign that brought Kuya Choi and his team face-to-face with residents in the Tagum Public Market, the Historical and Cultural Center and the bustling Night Market.

“Tagum reflects the strength and spirit of the Filipino people,” Kuya Choi said as he chatted with vendors and shoppers. “That’s why we’re here — to look people in the eye, shake hands, and really listen. Change doesn’t start behind a podium. It starts here, in the middle of their day-to-day.”

Throughout the walk, Napoles engaged vendors in real talk about their daily struggles — soaring prices, limited access to capital, and the growing cost of getting goods from point A to B. It wasn’t a photo-op walk. It was a rolling conversation.

“We’ve always been here — in markets, in barangays, alongside ordinary Filipinos,” Kuya Choi shared. “That’s the Kaunlad way. We show up, we listen, and we work.”

The response? Warm smiles, waves, and even tearful encounters. It was a reminder that people crave authenticity in a world of campaign noise. And Kaunlad Pinoy made it clear — they’re not just here to win votes. They’re here to honor promises made long before the campaign season began.

As the movement continues its Mindanao leg, its message rings louder with every step: real progress starts at street level — and Kaunlad Pinoy is here for the long walk.
