DINGRAS, ILOCOS NORTE — Authorities recovered a caliber .38 revolver, assorted ammunition, and suspected drug residue during a search warrant operation in Barangay Medina, Dingras, Ilocos Norte, on the morning of 23 April 2025.
The search warrant, issued by the Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 11 in Laoag City, was served by operatives from the Dingras Municipal Police Station in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company. The warrant was in connection with Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The subject of the operation, a 43-year-old married resident of Barangay Medina, was not present during the implementation of the warrant. However, the operation proceeded in the presence of his sister, barangay officials, and a media representative.
Recovered from the premises were one unit of a caliber .38 revolver, various types of ammunition, and materials suspected to be residue of illegal drugs. The seized items are now under police custody for further examination and proper disposition.
