PBBM orders faster processing at NAIA as Holy Week exodus begins

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon surveys the bustling Batangas Passenger Terminal on 10 April, bracing for the tidal wave of Holy Week and summer vacation travelers. As the country’s largest port, Batangas ferries 20,000 to 25,000 passengers daily at the height of the season.

Passengers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 can now expect a significantly quicker immigration experience following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to ease airport congestion during the Holy Week travel period.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said the President gave “strict orders” for all government agencies to work together to ensure safe and convenient travel for passengers.
“Ang sabi ng Pangulo, gawin nating convenient at safe ang travel experience ng ating mga pasahero,” Dizon told reporters Tuesday during an early morning inspection at NAIA.

Dizon noted the clear improvement in passenger movement at immigration counters, especially compared to the previous week when travelers experienced long lines at the airport.
“This is the result of close collaboration among the Bureau of Immigration, Manila International Airport Authority, and New NAIA Infra Corp. This is proof na pagka nagtrabaho tayo together, we can make things happen for the better,” he added.
