PBBM warns abusive foreign vloggers

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. issued a stern warning to foreign vloggers who take advantage of the Filipino people’s hospitality, following the controversial actions of Russian vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy.

Zdorovetskiy went viral after posting videos where he harassed and provoked Filipinos, sparking outrage among the public and social media users.

“It’s sad because it has become a part of social media where there are vloggers who just cause trouble, tease, and be rude, just to get viewers. Let’s not get involved in that kind of behavior, that’s not the Filipino way,” Marcos said in a statement.

He added, “Rest assured that we will not allow those who do such things to continue doing so. These actions will not go unchecked, and we will take steps to ensure such behavior is addressed.”

Marcos underscored the unique qualities of Filipinos, noting their respect, courtesy, humility, and patience — traits that define the nation’s character.

“It’s sad to see our characteristics being abused like this. It is natural for us to just laugh it off and not make a big deal out of this kind of insult. But that does not mean our government will ignore it. We will take action to protect the dignity of our people,” he said.

The President said the Filipino spirit of patience should not be mistaken for passivity, stressing that while Filipinos may sometimes tolerate minor offenses, such behavior should never be allowed to persist or become a pattern.
