After a rigorous selection process, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) has officially introduced the candidates for the 61st edition of the national pageant.
From a pool of 80 applicants representing various cities and municipalities across the country, the final roster has been carefully selected.
Among this year’s contenders is actress Dalia Khattab, a Star Magic talent and first-time pageant aspirant. She expressed her excitement about stepping into the pageant world after years in the entertainment industry.
“This is my first pageant, and I’m honestly so grateful to have already experienced so much with ABS-CBN,” she shared.
“I’m very, very grateful to have been guided by the best managers and mentors. Now, I’m with Aces and Queens, and it’s exciting to grow in this new industry—which isn’t too different from show business,” she added.
When asked what inspired her to join Binibining Pilipinas, Dalia explained, “I figured maybe it’s time for me to represent my community, Las Piñas, and hopefully, the Philippines.”
Also generating buzz is early Miss International frontrunner Annabelle Mae McDonell of Iligan City.
“I’m absolutely ecstatic. There were 80 applicants today, and making it to the top 36 is already a huge achievement,” she said.
“I’m really grateful to be here and to represent my hometown,” she added.
The 36 candidates will compete for the chance to represent the Philippines in prestigious international pageants such as Miss International and Miss Globe.
