BALANGA CITY, Bataan — The Bataan police made another significant stride in their campaign against illegal drugs, seizing 60 grams of shabu valued at P408,000 in Orion town on Thursday.
Bataan Police Director Col. Palmer Z. Tria reported that the operation, conducted by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Orion PNP in coordination with the Bataan Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit, led to the arrest of a 28-year-old high-value drug pusher.
The suspect was apprehended in Barangay Sto. Domingo, Orion, and is currently in the custody of the Orion Municipal Police Station. He faces criminal charges under Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In separate operations earlier, five individuals were arrested for illegal possession of drugs and firearms.
In Samal town, PLT Orlando L. Perez Jr., chief of police, reported a successful buy-bust operation in Barangay Tabing Ilog, resulting in the arrest of two suspects, identified as Batikin and Romero. Officers seized a small plastic sachet containing approximately 1.0025 grams of shabu, valued at P6,817, along with a P500 bill used in the transaction.
Meanwhile, in Morong town, captain Carlito A. Buco Jr., police chief, reported the arrest of three suspects identified only as Sady, Inao and Roxas. Police recovered one .22 caliber pellet rifle with ammunition, an improvised sumpak with two 12-gauge rounds, a .38 caliber revolver (with missing parts), and shabu worth P9,656.
