Anti-drug police operatives in North Caloocan seized at least 90 kilograms of suspected marijuana during a buy-bust operation on Tuesday morning.

According to Caloocan City Police Chief Colonel Edcille Canals, the operation took place along San Lorenzo Street in Malaria, Barangay 185.

Joint operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit, the Tala Police Substation, and the Amparo Police Substation led the sting operation.

The arrested individuals were identified as alias “Juawana,” a 25-year-old female encoder, alias “Raul,” 49, alias “Cristopher,” a 26-year-old construction worker, and alias “Jahziel,” a 23-year-old painter.

The seized marijuana was found in 53 vacuum-sealed plastic sachets and 72 bricks of dried marijuana leaves. The combined street value of the marijuana is approximately P10.86 million.

Authorities suspect a syndicate may be involved, linking the arrested individuals to the illegal drug distribution network in North Caloocan and nearby areas.

The four suspects will face charges under Sections 5, 11, and 26 of Article 2 of Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
