A high-value drug suspect and his female companion were arrested in a buy-bust operation early Tuesday in Barangay 149, Caloocan City.

According to a report from the Northern Police District (NPD), the anti-illegal drug operation was conducted by members of the Caloocan City Police-Station Drug Enforcement Unit.

A total of 100 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P680,000, was recovered from the suspects. The drugs were contained in five separate heat-sealed sachets.

Additionally, police recovered non-drug evidence including P5,700 in cash, two mobile phones, and a sling bag.

The suspects will be charged with violating Sections 5, 11, and 26 of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“Section 5 covers the sale or trade of illegal drugs, Section 11 addresses possession of illegal narcotics, and Section 26 deals with attempts or conspiracies to commit unlawful acts,” police said.

Police Colonel Josefino Ligan, acting district director of the Northern Police District, stressed that the NPD will remain relentless and committed to its plans to eradicate the “drug menace” in Northern Metro Manila.
