SM City Fairview hosted the Cyberzone Geek Con DX last weekend, bringing together fans of technology, gaming, and pop culture for an exciting celebration. The event, organized by SM Cyberzone, featured everything from gaming and cosplay to collectible figures and tech innovations.
“It was an epic weekend for fans of all things tech, gaming, pop culture, and anime,” said Patrick G. Pacla, Vice President of Operations and Marketing for SM Supermalls. “Our inaugural event provided a memorable experience for fans across every facet of geek culture.”
The event offered a variety of attractions, with the Hobby Corner featuring curated displays of Gundam models and anime figures from popular series like Demon Slayer, Haikyuu!!, and Jujutsu Kaisen. Ludus Distributors hosted free lessons on Magic: The Gathering, engaging both new and experienced players.
In the Deluxe Lane, digital artists and gamers got hands-on with the latest creative tools, including live art sessions with Wacom tablets and MSI laptops. Guest artist “Arts of Ran” led a design session focused on character creation, further emphasizing the event's focus on nurturing creative talent.
Exhibitors like Gameline Keys and Datablitz x Akko showcased the latest in mechanical keyboard accessories, including keycaps, switches, and keyboard cases. MSI also debuted its Claw 8 AI+ portable gaming device, offering on-the-spot challenges with prizes for participants.
Cosplay was a highlight of the event, with elaborate parades showcasing characters from popular franchises. Performers such as Hippochi, Maria Song, Gelo Grayson, VTuber Kira Omori, and photographer Jay Tablante energized the crowd. The cosplay contest awarded P47,000 in prizes to top contestants.
Cyberzone Geek Con DX will next take place at SM City Cebu on March 8-9. Fans can follow the event on social media using the hashtag #CyberzoneGeekConDX to join online conversations and keep the geek culture alive.
