A 42-year-old man was arrested by the members of Caloocan City Police on Friday morning for allegedly exhibiting a firearm, causing panic among the players. 

The man, identified as “Gean Paul,” 42, a resident of Tondo, Manila, was arrested by members of the East Grace Park Substation after authorities received a phone call from an informant.

“It was timely that when we forwarded the information to our personnel, we had operatives near the area, allowing them to respond immediately,” Police Staff Seargent Randy Magastino said.

According to a witness who refused to identify himself, the man was repeatedly walking beside a pool table when a man called him out.

"When another man called him out, he pulled out his gun, causing panic among the players."

Operatives were able to recover a calibre-40 gun, loaded with live ammunition.

Upon checking the gun’s registration number, the Firearms and Explosives Office of the National Police Commission confirmed that it was registered to the suspect’s relative. However, the suspect didn’t disclose how the firearm came into his possession.

The cashier of the billiard hall said that Gean Paul was one of the regular patrons of the establishment.

The accused already underwent inquest proceedings and is currently under the custody of Tuna Substation.

Gean Paul will face multiple charges including Alarm and Scandal, violation of the Republic Act No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act in relation to the Omnibus Election Code.
