Patroness of the arts, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to uplifting the welfare of Filipino artists through the promotion of their involvement on the global stage.
In a social media post on Thursday, the First Lady shared moments from the exclusive preview celebrating the Asian Cultural Council (ACC) Philippines’ 25-year legacy of nurturing Filipino talent ahead of its fundraising auction.
For 25 years, ACC Philippines has been supporting Filipino artists by providing funding to help them develop their skills abroad.
“Happy to be part of the special auction preview at León Gallery — where every piece helps fund the next generation of Filipino talent!” the First Lady wrote.
She attended the special auction preview at León Gallery in Makati City, which led up to the ACC auction.
The First Lady has consistently championed Filipino creatives — painters, filmmakers and cultural innovators.
Set for today, 22 February, the highly anticipated auction will showcase 140 artworks, including paintings, sculptures, and rare antiques.
The proceeds will fund a cultural exchange program granting nine promising Filipino artists the opportunity to refine their craft in the United States, India and Japan.
Since its inception in 1963, the ACC has played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of over 300 artists, scholars, and cultural practitioners.
León Gallery, founded in 2010, stands as the premier institution for historically significant and museum-quality Philippine art.
The gallery is a trusted authority in the authentication and documentation of Philippine masterpieces, ensuring each artwork’s impeccable provenance.
With the First Lady’s steadfast advocacy and the ACC’s enduring mission, the auction is poised to not only celebrate artistic heritage but also pave the way for a new generation of Filipino creatives to shine on the world stage.
