After Dia Mate secured the second Reina Hispanoamericana crown for the Philippines in Bolivia on Monday, singer-songwriter Juan Karlos (JK) Labajo took to social media to express his pride and support.
On Instagram, Labajo shared a snap of Mate and simply wrote, “Congratulations baby,” he wrote followed by a heart emoji celebrating her historic win.
The 23-year-old beauty queen, who comes from the Remulla clan of Cavite, bested 24 other candidates from Spanish-speaking and Hispanic-influenced nations.
She follows Teresita Ssen Marquez, who first won the title for the Philippines in 2017, and inherits the crown from Maricielo Gamarra of Peru (2023/2024 winner).
Before her international win, Mate competed in Miss Universe Philippines 2024, where she earned a special sponsor title but did not advance.
She later joined Miss World Philippines 2025, where she won the Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas title, securing her ticket to Bolivia.
Labajo and Mate confirmed their relationship in 2024, and the singer has been one of her biggest supporters throughout her pageant journey.
With this milestone, the couple continues to celebrate each other’s achievements on the international stage.
