The first activity was an off-road test using the JAECOO EJ6. In the passenger seat beside me was Matthew Pascual, my instructor for this session. I drove the EJ6 through the muddy, slippery course. It was able to handle the challenging terrain with ease with its dual-motor 4WD system and Prodrive Suspension. One standout feature was the “whirl” mode. It locked the rear wheels to allow for a sharp U-turn. It felt so easy as if you could go around in a very tight spot and just enjoy circling like a cat.
We drove the EJ6 through wet and uneven terrain. Its traction and ground clearance stood out. It felt stable and controlled. The Prodrive Suspension delivered a smooth ride in off-road conditions.
We then went to the track to test all models. First was the slalom course. The OMODA E5 showed its agility by weaving through the safety cones. The precise steering and responsive handling stood out as it navigated the cones at a relatively high speed.
We did the brake and evade test with the Omoda C5 by simulating a sudden need to avoid an obstacle and stop immediately. The C5 performed well with stability and reliable braking. Knowing it has an advanced safety feature with its 5-star safety rating, added a sense of confidence.
Seasoned race car drivers and instructors, Louis Ramirez and Robbie Hermoso, guided us during the lapping session. We pushed the vehicles to their limits. The OMODA E5’s electric motor delivered seamless power on the straights, while the JAECOO EJ6 proved it wasn’t just for off-road — it handled the track with surprising ease. The OMODA C5, designed as a sporty crossover, felt at home on the circuit.
