P50-M illegal drugs seized

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported that its operatives seized P50,745,116.80 worth of illegal drugs since P/Col. Melecio Buslig Jr. was designated acting district director four months ago.
This resulted from 667 anti-illegal drug operations that also led to 1,059 drug-related arrests.
From 1 October 2024 to 1 February 2025, the QCPD’s intensified crime-fighting efforts yielded significant breakthroughs as it successfully arrested 1,309 wanted persons, apprehended 1,321 illegal gamblers, and caught 109 suspects for illegal firearms violations, confiscating 113 firearms.
These intensified operations resulted in a 14.12 percent overall decline in major focus crimes, with reported incidents dropping from 701 between 1 October 2023 and 1 February 2024, to 602 between 1 October 2024 and 1 February 2025.
Notably, murder decreased by 29.41 percent, physical injuries by 52.50 percent, rape by 36.21 percent, robbery by 17.53 percent and theft by 9.49 percent, highlighting the district’s commitment to public safety.
Buslig said he has made significant progress in crime reduction and public safety through the guidance and directives from Chief, PNP P/Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil and ARD, NCRPO, P/Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, and aligned with the Able, Active, and Allied Program, has strengthened the police force through training, proactive crime prevention, and closer community engagement.
Meanwhile, the Unified Intelligence and Investigation Center further reinforced crime-solving efforts, processing 5,981 facial recognition requests and successfully identifying 670 suspects from its database.
Moreover, 189 suspects were found to have committed offenses across multiple jurisdictions, while 72 individuals were discovered using aliases to evade capture.
