The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has arrested an alleged member of the Bahala Na gang during an anti-illegal gambling operation in Barangay Masambong.
The suspect, identified only by the alias "Enrico," 26, is a resident of Barangay Paltok, Quezon City.
According to the Masambong Police Station (PS 2), officers received information from a confidential informant that the suspect was engaged in the illegal numbers game locally known as "Basketball Ending."
Acting on the tip, PS 2 personnel conducted an anti-illegal gambling operation at around 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday, 7 July, along Capoas Street in Barangay Masambong, leading to the suspect's arrest.
Police said they recovered one ending card, one black ballpen, and P600 in alleged bet money from the suspect.
A background check also showed that the suspect has previous criminal records, including alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165 in January 2019, February 2021, and July 2021; theft cases in August 2024 and 2025; and a previous alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9287 in March 2026.
"The arrested suspect [alias Enrico] will be charged for violation of Republic Act No. 9287 before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office," the QCPD said.
The case remains under investigation.
