The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has taken custody of three minors involved in a reported robbery targeting a 14-year-old boy in Barangay Payatas, officials announced Monday.

QCPD acting district director Brig. Gen. Christopher Olazo, citing a report from Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station Commander Lt. Col. Rowena Amata, said the incident occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. on 31 October near a basketball court along Lanzones Street in Barangay Payatas B.

Police reported that the 14-year-old victim was walking with two companions when they were confronted by the three minors.

One suspect allegedly threatened the victim with a screwdriver and dragged him into an alley, taking his cellphone valued at P16,000 and P500 in cash. The victim’s companions escaped and notified their parents, who then alerted barangay officials and station officers.

At 3 p.m. on 1 November, guardians of the three minors voluntarily surrendered them to the station. Officers recovered the victim’s stolen phone during the turnover.
