A suspected member of the Kamsa Dalimbang Criminal Group was arrested Monday in Quezon City for illegal possession of firearms and violation of the Omnibus Election Code, according to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) chief Col. Melecio Buslig Jr.
Police identified the suspect as Nicko Malicdem, who was apprehended early Monday by officers from the QCPD Police Station 11 (Galas), headed by Lt. Col. Joseph DM Dela Cruz, the station commander.
The arrest followed a report filed on 29 November 2024, by a victim accusing Malicdem of violating Republic Act 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016).
Initial reports disclosed that at approximately 5 a.m. on 3 February 2025, the victim spotted Malicdem with his stolen motorcycle along Women’s Club Street, near Bayani Street, Barangay San Isidro, Quezon City.
The victim immediately reported the sighting to Police Station 11, prompting a quick response from law enforcement.
Upon arriving at the scene, the victim positively identified Malicdem as the individual who had stolen his motorcycle. As officers approached Malicdem, they noticed a firearm tucked into his waist. They asked him to produce documentation for the firearm. Malicdem was unable to provide any documentation, leading to his immediate arrest.
Authorities recovered one 12-gauge pistol, two rounds of 12-gauge ammunition, and a Yamaha NMax motorcycle, which was confirmed to be the stolen vehicle.
