A tricycle driver will be behind bars again after being arrested in a buy-bust operation in Valenzuela City.
Policemen from the Northern Police District - District Drug Enforcement Unit (NPD-DDEU) spearheaded the operation, which was conducted at Santos Compound in Barangay Malinta last Wednesday night.
At least 30 grams of suspected shabu, with a street value of P204,000, were recovered from alias “Ian.”
Police Captain Regie Pobadora, the assistant chief of the NPD-DDEU, said that “Ian” had been arrested in 2018 for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The poseur-buyers were able to purchase at least five grams of suspected shabu, valued at around P8,000.
Captain Pobadora added that they conducted a thorough surveillance of the suspect for at least one week before setting up the buy-bust operation.
“His usual market, based on our information, is within his area in Bukid, Malinta, and he usually holds at least 50 to 100 grams of the illegal drug,” Pobadora said in a Viber message.
Alias ‘Ian’ is currently in the Northern Police District Custodial Facility in Langaray, Caloocan City, where he will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165.
