Mandaluyong City — A bettor from Valenzuela City won the P19.4-million jackpot in the Lotto 6/42 draw on Jan. 11, 2025, with the winning combination 09-38-23-12-32-29.
The winner, a motorcycle driver for a Transportation Network Vehicle Service (TNVS), said he had been playing the lotto for two years before finally hitting the jackpot. He added that he only bets when he has extra income.
The new millionaire plans to use the money to build a new house and pay for his child’s tuition.
He encouraged others to try their luck in the lottery, saying, “Wala naman pong masamang sumubok sa lotto. Sa kagaya ko pong isang 'Angkas' driver na naghahangad lang na guminhawa ang buhay, huwag nyo pong susukuan ang inyong mga pangarap. Samahan nyo lang po ng sipag at dasal para pagkalooban din po kayo ng swerte.”
(There is nothing wrong with trying the lottery. As I am an 'Angkas' driver who just wants to make life easier, don’t give up on your dreams. Just accompany it with hard work and prayer so that luck will be granted to you as well.)
He claimed his winnings of P19,489,253.80 at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City.
Under the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law, prizes over P10,000 are subject to a 20 percent tax and must be claimed within one year from the draw date or they will be declared null and void under the PCSO Charter (RA 1169).
The PCSO assured that winners’ personal information will be kept confidential for their safety and security.
Lotto 6/42 draws are held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 9 p.m. and are broadcast live on IBC-13, D8TV Channel, and the PCSO Games Online Hub Facebook page.
