The official poster for Mananambal, the highly anticipated film starring Philippines National Artist for Film and Broadcast Nora Aunor, has been unveiled by Viva Films on their social media accounts.
“ANG NAGKASALA AY MAPAPARUSAHAN,” part of the caption read, announcing that the film will hit cinemas on 19 February.
Written and directed by Adolfo Borinaga Alix Jr., Mananambal introduces Aunor as Lucia, a healer torn by the mysteries of her supernatural gift. In a previous post, Alix described Aunor’s character as a woman navigating the complex dualities of her role as a mananambal.
Set on the mystical island of Siquijor, the film explores the life of a healer in a story steeped in folklore and mystery.
Last year, Mananambal had its international premiere at the Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival in Japan, earning acclaim ahead of its Philippine release.
Fans of Nora Aunor and Philippine cinema are eagerly anticipating the film’s nationwide release on 19 February.
