“Bayani,” a K9 dog led authorities to confiscate an estimated P170 million worth of suspected shabu weighing 25 kilos in a random inspection in Pier 4, Cebu City on Thursday, 23 January.
Arrested were a mother and son identified as Edna Roche Loga, 64, a resident of Barangay Ermita, Cebu City, and Edward Roche Loga, 42, from Santo Rosario, Isabel, Leyte.
One of the suspects said that they had been instructed to transport the vehicle from Masbate to Cebu and claimed they were unaware it contained illegal drugs.
She claimed not knowing the person who gave them the instructions.
Operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas, Regional Maritime Police and Cebu Port Authority police seized the illegal drugs.
