Man nabbed after 8 years for ‘disciplining’ kid
Edgar expressed shock upon learning of the charges against him, claiming that he had never disciplined his stepdaughter and that her mother had always been responsible for disciplining her

A 53-year-old man was arrested in North Caloocan after eight years for alleged physical mistreatment of his stepdaughter.
The suspect, identified as alias “Edgar,” was arrested Saturday, 18 January, along Malaria Road in Barangay 185, North Caloocan.
The Northern Police District Special Operations Unit (NPD-DSOU) and the District Intelligence Division carried out the police operation conducted by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Marifi Chua of Regional Trial Court Branch 70 in Iba, Zambales.
According to Patrolman Anthony Turgo, after the issuance of the arrest warrant, Edgar relocated from Zambales to Caloocan City, which made it challenging for police to track him down.
“From Iba, Zambales, he relocated to Barangay 181, and now in Barangay 185 in North Caloocan before we arrested him,” Turgo said.
After bringing Edgar to the Northern Police District custodial facility, the Zambales court shared that there were two more counts of violation of Republic Act 7610, the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act against the suspect.
Edgar expressed shock upon learning of the charges against him, claiming that he had never disciplined his stepdaughter and that her mother had always been responsible for disciplining her.
