The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said it will comply with three new temporary restraining orders (TROs) released by the Supreme Court (SC) on Saturday.

The first TRO involves Marie Grace David's petition for substitution and inclusion as an official candidate for vice mayor of Limay, Bataan.

In another ruling, the High Court also stopped the Comelec from enforcing its resolutions that declared Mary Dominique Oñate a nuisance candidate for the mayoral race in Palompon, Leyte.

Meanwhile, In Bocaue, Bulacan, the high tribunal issued a TRO stopping the implementation of Comelec resolutions that canceled Aldrin Sta. Ana's certificate of candidacy for mayor.

Comelec Spokesperson Rex Laudiangco said the poll body "fully recognizes and respects" the recently issued TROs involving three local candidates.

The High Court earlier issued five TROs earlier this week, which resulted in temporarily halting the printing of official ballots and disposal of six million printed ballots.

The Comelec, however, assured that it is fully in control of the situation and the 12 May elections will proceed as scheduled.

The reprinting of ballots, meanwhile, will resume "at the soonest possible time," according to Laudiangco.
