Justice Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Atty. Mico Clavano took center stage anew after being nominated as one of the contenders for this year's Outstanding Public Communicator Award, presented by Undersecretary Margarita N. Gutierrez.
Clavano writes a column at DAILY TRIBUNE titled "Fit for Justice," tackling issues from the judiciary and other topics.
Themed "Parangal: Gawad ng Kahusayan sa Komunikasyong Pampubliko," the event was hosted by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Monday at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City, where ten government communicators from various agencies were recognized.
Clavano serves as a main voice and bridge between the DoJ and the Filipino people since the beginning of his term under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who was also present at the event.
Moreover, Asec Clavano was commended for his excellent communication skills, innovative strategies, and impactful contributions to public relations, fully displaying one of the main advocacies of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin "Boying" C. Remulla—delivering "Compassionate Justice" through effective communications.
"From the bottom of my heart, I thank the Selection Committee for this nomination/recognition. This serves as a motivation for me to do even more for the Filipino people," Clavano said.
"Compassionate Justice and Effective Communications are indispensable pillars of efficient public service. These two concepts play a vital role in bridging the gaps between the government and the people towards better understanding and unity," Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla stressed in a statement on Tuesday.
